capArt is designed with privacy as a fundamental principle, not an afterthought. We do not collect, process, store, or transmit any personal information whatsoever. Specifically:
capArt requests access to your device's camera and photo library to enable its core functionality — capturing and collecting exhibit photos. Here is how we handle this data:
When you use the in-app camera to photograph exhibits, the captured photos are saved directly to the app's local storage on your device. Photos are never uploaded to any server or shared with any third party.
When you import photos from your library, capArt creates a local copy within the app's sandboxed storage. Your original photos in the system photo library are never modified.
The AI-powered background removal feature uses Apple's built-in Vision framework, which runs entirely on your device. No photos or image data are sent to any external server for processing. The cutout operation is performed locally using on-device machine learning models provided by iOS.
The exhibition label recognition feature uses Apple's Vision framework for on-device text recognition (OCR). All text extraction happens locally on your device. No images or recognized text are transmitted externally.
All data created by capArt — including your exhibit photos, exhibition collections, cutout images, and metadata — is stored exclusively in the app's local sandboxed storage on your device.
capArt does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks that collect user data. Specifically:
The only frameworks used are Apple's native system frameworks (Vision, Core Data, UIKit, SwiftUI), which operate entirely on-device.
capArt does not make any network requests. The app functions entirely offline. No data is ever transmitted from your device to any server, endpoint, or external service.
The app does not require an internet connection to function. All features — including photo capture, background removal, OCR, and gallery browsing — work completely offline.
capArt does not collect any personal information from any user, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since no data is collected whatsoever, the app is inherently compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
Since capArt collects no data, there is no data to share. We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise disclose any user information to third parties, because no such information exists in our possession.
Under applicable data protection regulations (including GDPR, CCPA, and others), you have certain rights regarding your personal data. Since capArt collects no personal data:
You are always in full control of your data. All content is stored locally on your device and can be removed at any time by deleting the app.
If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Since capArt does not collect any contact information, we are unable to send direct notifications of policy changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Any future versions of capArt that introduce data collection (which is not currently planned) will clearly disclose this in the app and in an updated version of this policy prior to implementation.
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or capArt's data practices, please contact us:
We welcome any questions about our privacy practices and are happy to provide additional clarification.
